Kaum 10 Minuten vom Dorfzentrum entfernt, liegt der Bettmersee in einer sanften Mulde. Ein bequemer, kinderwagengerechter Weg führt rund um den See, vorbei an Fischern und an Picknickplätzen mit Feuerstellen (Brennholz und WC-Anlagen vorhanden). Wer auf den See hinausrudern möchte, mietet sich ein Boot/Pedalo und wer das kühle Wasser nicht scheut, nimmt ein Bad. Zudem gibt es ein Natur-Planschbecken für Kinder und ein Beach-Volleyball Feld.

The route leads from Bettmeralp to Betten-Dorf. It passes by the Ried and Domo mountain pastures alongside some beautiful alpine meadows to reach the mountain village of Betten in approx. 2 « hours. The mountain pastures give you an idea how the residents used to live. On 9 information boards, Aletscha and Aletschander (two local kids) tell the story in words and pictures of how life was back then, living between village and alp. With its black larch houses, Betten epitomizes a typical Valaisian village and is well worth a closer look. From Betten you can take the cable car which leads conveniently up to Bettmeralp. Das Eggishorn, vom Bettmerhorn aus gesehen.: Das Eggishorn, vom Bettmerhorn aus gesehen.

Mit der Seilbahn fahren Sie von Fiesch auf die Fiescheralp und weiter aufs Eggishorn. Gleich hinter der Horli-Hitta befindet sich der Einstieg zum Bergweg "Vom Gletscher zum Wasser". Abstieg auf dem Serpentinen-Bergweg bis zum ersten Wegweiser "Gletscherstube, Tälligrat, Märjelen". In 15 Minuten erreichen Sie über den romantischen Plattenweg den herrlichen Aussichtspunkt beim kleinen See auf dem Tälligrat. Abstieg nach Märjelen/Gletscherstube beim Wegweiser Tälligrat. Ab da sind es noch 45 Minuten bis zur Berghütte Gletscherstube. Von der Hütte erreichen Sie in 25 Minuten auf einem flachen Bergweg den imposanten Punkt Platte. Deutlich sieht man von hier aus die sich abgrenzende Linie des legendären, vergangenen Märjelensees. 25 Minuten benötigen Sie für den Rückweg zur Gletscherstube. Der breite Fahrweg führt Sie weiter zum Portal des Tunnels durch den Tälligrat. Der Tunnel ist beleuchtet. 90 Minuten zurück zur Mittelstation Fiescheralp, wo Sie wieder eine Rückfahrtmöglichkeit haben.

Von der Gondelbahn Bergstation Bettmerhorn führt dieser herrliche Bergweg hoch über dem Grossen Aletschgletscher, vorerst leicht absteigend, dann ziemlich flach bis zum Punkt 2581. Weiter geht es in einigen Kurven aufsteigend und dann flach die grosse Geröllhalde überquerend (Grosses Gufer) zu Punkt 2536. Danach in einigen grossen Kehren über die Schafweide absteigend zu Punkt 2364 in der Roten Chumma. Hier trifft man auf den Weg, der vom Biel (Riederalp) herkommt. Weiter geht es über einen in Fels gehauenen aber breiten Weg Richtung Märjela, deren wilde Umgebung an eine Polarlandschaft erinnert. Von hier gelangt man durch den beleuchteten Tälligrattunnel (kürzer) oder um den Tälligrat (länger aber schöner) zur Fiescheralp und Bettmeralp.

To the north, the hike on the ridge offers an incredible view of the great Aletsch glacier and the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site. To the south is a stunning view of the Rhone valley, the Binntal (valley), and the mountains of the Valaisian Alps. This hike from the Bettmerhorn gondola top station to the Eggishorn top station takes approximately 3 hours. From the top station, you can take the fixed-rope route and arrive at the peak of the Bettmerhorn (summit cross) in about 30 minutes. The trail secured with climbing aids where appropriate, continues from here about 1.5 km (0.93 miles) along the ridge until its end. There, you cross a steep step (there are fixed ropes to hold on to) down to Elselücke. From Elselücke, you walk along a nice, wide hiking trail for about 45 minutes until you reach the Eggishorn top station, or you can continue straight back to Fiescheralp and the Bettmeralp starting point. The UNESCO World Heritage high trail is an alpine hike (signposted blue-white-blue) designated only for experienced and sure-footed hikers who have no problems with heights. It is advised that you not depart from the signposted trail from the Bettmerhorn ridge to Elselücke. Top-level hiking. Round-trip ticket available for the Bettmerhorn high trail to Eggishorn route.

Hike along the marmot discovery path. On the route between the chairlift Schönbiel or Wurzenbord dupper station and Bettmersee (lake), you will find four information stations that provide you with a lot of thrilling facts about the rodents. In the chairlift, you might even get to see or hear marmots from a bird's eye view. Once you've reached the upper station Schönbiel or Wurzenbord, it's time to start! If conditions are favorable, you will be able to observe the marmots. The alpine pastures above Bettmeralp are full of the little creatures. But that doesn't mean we are at the zoo. We still have to watch and listen carefully! Special tickets called "In the marmots' empire" can be bought from Bettmeralp Bahnen cableways. The price includes the ride from Betten lower station to Bettmeralp and back and a one-way trip in the chairlift Schönbiel or Wurzenbord. (1 hour hiking time) Free flyer available at the Tourist Office.

Geniessen Sie eine imposante Aussicht auf das UNESCO-Weltnaturerbe Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn

Diese Wanderung beginnt bei der Bergstation der Luftseilbahn Bettmeralp. Nach ca. 20 Minuten erreicht man den Bettmersee und der Weg verläuft weiter via Blausee und Breite Bodu auf den Aletschgrat. Von hier geniessen sie eine imposante Aussicht auf das UNESCO-Weltnaturerbe Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn und die Viertausender der Walliser und Berner Alpen. Wir steigen nun hinab an den Rand des Aletschgletschers - zu den smaragdgrünen Seen der Chatzulecher. Der Rückweg führt hinauf übers Biel und weiter zum Blausee. Die letzte Teilstrecke zurück zur Bettmeralp folgt demselben Weg wie beim Aufstieg.

On our Helsana Swiss running walking trails you will learn the perfect walking, Nordic walking and running technique. Furthermore, you are shown strengthening and stretching exercises and given tips on coordination training and the perfect training intensity. This path leads from the eastern end of the village of Bettmeralp (Hotel Aletsch) on a relatively flat elevation through "Baschweri" toward Martisbergeralp. After approx. 30 minutes the path gently rises and then continues relatively flat toward "Alter Stafel". From "Alter Stafel" it leads past the "Möriken" group accommodation facility and back to Bettmeralp.
